“Detwenti Tavern” – Roll20 Adventurer Leagues Hall

On February 2nd, 2018, The Adventurer Leagues opened it’s doors to people looking to play D&D & Adventurers League games. We welcome them to our “Tavern” (general chat) in our Discord server where we got to know each other and play some D&D. We asked players to join our Roll20 “Adventurer’s League Hall” where they would gather and create their characters at the “Detwenti Tavern”. Players could then roleplay and get to know each other’s characters, and then take their characters off to play in adventures with each other. What started with less than 10 people, is now a community of over 800+ members.

TavernCon 2020 will be a celebration of the community that has grown and just like a fantasy tavern in the D&D world, has become an amazing place for people to get to know each other, experience people from all walks of life that have come from all over the world, and share stories of their adventures and life they’ve experienced. Our community has grown strong, making friendships and shared incredible fun times with each other, as well as a place to turn to each other for hard times as well and share a virtual drink together.

But at it’s core, The Adventurer Leagues Discord community is about playing some Dungeons & Dragons & Adventurers League Games!

TavernCon 2020 will take place on Sat. June 27th & Sun. June 28th, 2020, starting at 7am Pacific Time / 2pm UTC each day, and will run games throughout the day going until late into the night. Click here for time conversion help!

Throughout TavernCon 2020, we will also be running Adventurers Leagues games featuring modules that start in Taverns, spanning all the seasons of Adventurers Leagues (Seasons 0-9, including CCC’s). Starting at 7am, new games will run approximately every 2-4 hours throughout the day.

At TavernCon 2020, we’ll be playing games throughout the day, streaming live on Twitch.tv, and looking to raise money for Extra Life. Last year, during the Extra Life day,we raised over $700 for the charity, and are looking to raise even more this year! Check out our Team Page here to learn more and donate!

To help raise money, we are going to be giving away some prizes and donated items to people who Donate to our Extra Life Fundraising Campaign (Donate Here!). Here are ways you can donate to help the charity and our fundraising and hopefully win something as well!

Our main fundraising goal is to raise $1,500 during TavernCon 2020. Here are the Raffle Prizes available, but you can also purchase “Re-Rolls” for $1 each (allows you to re-roll any d20 roll during a game once each), as well as any donation of $5 or more receives an Adventurers League legal Certification for a Tressym Familiar!

HOW TO ENTER:

For all physical or digital prizes, to be in the drawing to win that prize, you must go to The Adventurer Leagues Discord Extra-Life Donation Page, and donate the amount listed for that prize. At the end of TavernCon, on June 30th, the winners will be randomly selected and notified.

** You may donate to any individual The Adventurer Leagues Discord Team member and still qualify qualify for prizes. To join our team or check out other team members, click here to see our Team Page**

When entering your donation, click “Other” to enter in the exact dollar amount of the Prize you are entering in the drawing for. Also be sure to check “Add a message” and in the message include your Discord user name or some other method of contacting you if you win. DONATION AMOUNTS LISTED IN US DOLLARS.

For physical prizes (such as dice or WotC hardcovers), prizes will be purchased and sent via Amazon. If Amazon does not deliver to where you live, we will contact you to work out an alternate redemption (e.g. gift cards for prize value).

For digital prizes (games), they are redeemed via Steam client game codes (Humble Bundle gift links also available). Please do not enter drawings for these prizes if you cannot run/do not have access to the Steam client. If you win and are unable to redeem, there are no alternate prizes or options, the codes will be delivered and prize will be considered fulfilled.

• $1 Donation – Players participating in an Adventurers League module being run during TavernCon (see Game Schedule – link above on this page), you will be allowed to Re-Roll any d20 based roll during a game.

– Re-rolls may be pre-purchased via donation (you may donate an amount equal to the amount of re-rolls you would like to have). When pre-purchasing, please include a message stating your Discord user name, and the amount of re-rolls you are purchasing to be used during TavernCon. This is the preferred method for the re-roll donations as it helps save time at the table.

– Re-rolls may also be tallied during a game session, and then the cumulative donation may be made at the end of the session.

– Dungeon Masters may also purchase re-rolls that they can let their players use during the game. Please either pre-purchase or keep tally and make donation at end of the day.

• Any donation of $5 or more receives an Adventurers League legal Certification for a Tressym Familiar!

How to Sign-Up for Games:

All games during TavernCon are official Adventurers League games, so you must have an official Adventurers League character to participate. If you are unfamiliar with this, please check out this page: How to Play for instructions and links to official resources.

1. To sign-up for games for TavernCon, you will need to join The Adventurer Leagues discord server, you will need the Discord app on your phone or Discord software for your PC/Mac (click here to get the App/Program). Once you have the app or program installed, click this link to join The Adventurer Leagues discord server.

2. Once you’ve joined The Adventurer Leagues discord server, you will want to want to go to the channel/room named “#taverncon-signups” (see picture –>).

3. In the channel/room named #taverncon-signups, you will find a list of all the games posted for TavernCon, with times and adventure titles and game descriptions.

4. Find the game you want to sign up for, and then click the “+” emoji/reaction underneath the post and you will automatically be added to the game!

5. For the EPIC – DDEP0-03 “Liar’s Night” & DDEP07-02 “Drums of the Dead” – You will sign-ups based on Tier levels. Adventurer Leagues games are sorted by “Tiers” which separates player characters by level (see below breakdown). In the #tavern-con-signups room, you will see a listing for each Tier. ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE TIER! You can only use one character during the epic and will not be able to play multiple times. Find the posting that includes the Tier your Adventurers League character, and click the “+” emoji/reaction to signup automatically.

For the EPIC, you will be automatically sorted into game tables on the day of the TavernCon.
